Keamogetse Makotama

By Admin
December 19, 2022

Keamogetse Makotama started her YES journey in 2019. She started off as a computer lab facilitator at DSJ Primary School in Soweto where she worked with grade R to 4 learners as she facilitated a programme called Reading Eggs. Individuals in this space play a critical role in the growth and development of the young minds they are nurturing. Quality educational programmes that are carried out by skilled and knowledgeable educators have a direct effect on the future and adult experience of their learners.

Keamogetse shares that she was able to gain valuable experience in the lab and expand on her skills by assisting the principal with office admin. She was then offered an opportunity to participate in an IT technical support NQF 4 qualification and the opportunity to gain more experience as a junior skills development administrator at the Click Learning Head Office in Sandton. Sadie Mooi, her line manager, also played an important role in Keamogetse’s growth. Out of the many skills and learnings shared by Sadie, the most highlighted one is advantages of a team functioning well and working towards the same goal along with contributing to making our youth more employable.

“It was a demonstrative opportunity for me to build my future and to study further. My current role impacts the lives of the very same facilitators I worked alongside in the computer labs. My role involves tracking, monitoring and driving lab facilitators to complete skills development opportunities offered to them by Click Learning. I am passionate about enhancing facilitators’ ability to elevate their skills and reaching their skills development goals. I aim to ignite their enthusiasm as there are usually more problems than solutions. I have learned to use beneficial, unique and unconventional methods to create an environment where everybody participates,” says Keamogetse.
